When choosing alternative medicines, it's important to use techniques that have a long history of positive results, rather than methods yelled from passing cars. Experience traditional Chinese medicine with today’s Groupon: for $50, you get a 45-minute acupuncture treatment with either a 15-minute Tui Na massage or one cupping treatment (a $120 value) at East-West Acupuncture Clinic.

East-West Acupuncture’s certified acupuncturist Steve Snyder provides relief from a vast range of conditions through traditional Chinese medicinal techniques. The 45-minute acupuncture treatment provides each client with a thorough health assessment and a clear plan for alleviating chronic pain, digestive issues, respiratory diseases, addiction, and many other ailments. Steve will inquire about each patient’s health history, lifestyle, favorite Benjamin Franklin factoid, and other relevant information to develop the most effective health plan. He’ll then conduct his careful treatment, gently inserting extremely fine needles into the appropriate acupuncture points, releasing pent-up Qi energies and strengthening the body's resistance to disease and catchy ad jingles.

Included with the acupuncture session is a choice of either 15 minutes of Tui Na massage or a cupping treatment to ease muscle tension and induce relaxation. Similar to acupuncture, cupping is a traditional Chinese technique used to correct bodily complications such as sluggish blood flow, congested tissues, and toxin buildup. Warmed glass cups are applied to certain areas of the back, creating a tension-draining vacuum. Cupping may produce harmless bruises on the skin, similar to the marks left after a set of coal-cart squat thrusts. After the treatments, patients can leave experiencing restored mind-body balance and a feeling of completion, like an expertly assembled Mr. Potato Head.
