Listening to jazz and drinking wine have become some of man's top recreational activities, just after contemplating infinity and napping in the fridge. Let smooth saxophones entertain you with today's Groupon: for $10, you get admission for two to The East Valley New Release Wine Fest at St. Josef's Winery near Canby on Saturday, June 18 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., plus two commemorative wine glasses and $12 worth of tastings (a $22 value).

The East Valley Winery Association's New Release Wine Fest showcases the latest ambrosias from 11 different award-winning wineries in Willamette Valley. With admission (a $5/each value), guests are invited to chat with grape gurus, taste a variety of wines ($1 each), and peruse wares from local artists while enjoying the lucid sounds of the Blue Gardenia Jazztet. Visitors will take home a complimentary commemorative wine glass after casting optional votes in the People's Choice Awards for favored sipping successes. Guests are also invited to stop by the expert tasting panel to observe sommeliers arguing over which type of grape makes the best Raisinet.

Cascade Foothills Winegrowers

Fifteen family-owned wineries situated throughout the East Willamette Valley band together to form the Cascade Foothills Winegrowers Tour, which acquaints guests with the picturesque scenery and unique wines of their historic growing region. The wineries regularly host events that let attendees loose to sample newly released varietals and talk with artisan vintners amid the sounds of the best live music not performed by saxophone-playing raisins. Home to more than 1,500 acres of vineyard, the closest vineyard area to Portland. Experience award-winning Pinot Noir & Pinot Gris: but also Gamay, Chardonnay, Tempranillo, Syrah and more.
