Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

Are these standard corn syrup based marshmallows? I know how to make those but would be interested in a class that uses alternative liquid sweeteners such as honey as I haven't had as much success with those.

Maggie S.  asked on  Feb 9, 2014

A:

We do not use corn syrup in any of our products. We sweeten with evaporated cane juice and honey. These are all natural gourmet marshmallows, Delicious!

Q:

I was thinking about getting this for my daughter who is 14. Is there an age minimum?

Dorothy D.  asked on  Feb 10, 2014

A:

There is no age limit. We encourage parents to bring their kids. It is a lot of fun for children and adults. We leave it up to the parents to decide what their children can handle and at what age. We have had kids as young as 8 with their parents in the class. We are working with hot ingredients so you will want to use caution when deciding how old is old enough. For children and adults we also have a large selection of non alcoholic drinks. This is a great bonding experience with your kids. Hope to see you soon. Thanks, Eat Local Team

I meant age minimum above. But, it is important to know there is no limit either. You are never to old to learn how to make marshmallows. Thanks!

Do u use gelatin? Due to religious reasons, we do not consume gelatin made from animals (specifically pork/swine). It's an important consideration before we sign up.

A:

Unfortunately, yes, they use gelatin made from animal products in their marshmallows.
