In a recent survey, amusement ranked as the most highly preferred type of fun, followed closely by playing with Legos, sleeping, and minting counterfeit coin collections. Participate in the country's favorite pastime with today's deal: for $10, you get a general-admission ticket (an $18 value for adults, $16 value for children and seniors) to Edaville USA, located an hour outside of Boston in Carver. This Groupon is not valid for Day Out with Thomas events on August 28–29 or September 3–6 or on Saturdays during the Christmas Festival of Lights. Check the schedule for park hours.

A train-themed family fun park peppered with vintage rides, Edaville USA hosts the Edaville railroad, which has been part of the American landscape since 1947, when trains were first captured in the wild and domesticated. Made from narrow gauge rails recovered from Maine, the re-laid tracks now take passengers on a 20-minute train ride around the park's historic grounds—a time-honored way to open a day of rides, food, and more. Adults can reminisce about rides they enjoyed as children while children enjoy rides about which they will later reminisce, such as the classic Ferris wheel, Tilt-A-Whirl, carousel, and more. In between rounds of plying the skies and aggravating Snoopy on the Red Baron and teasing gravity until it cries aboard the Scrambler, get your family's fingers sticky with barbecue fare from The Choo-Choo Barbecue (open through Columbus day) or enjoy salads, pizza, and burgers at KC’s Café, saving room for ice cream from the Raspberry Mousse Caboose. Or, if it’s time to clean out the refrigerator, pack a picnic-worthy spread and bring your own lunch. If you'd like to leave with more than a bellyful of memories and a headful of food, pay a visit to the gift shop on the way out.

In addition to these perennial pleasures, Edaville also hosts events year round. Tart up your autumn with National Cranberry Festival, held October 9–11, where juice lovers can watch a cranberry harvest from the train and partake in arts, crafts, food, and music. Or delight in the twinkle in your offspring's eye as they behold the Christmas Festival of Lights (this Groupon is not valid on Saturdays during the Festival of Lights)—a brilliant display that you can get a glimpse of here. Reward your offspring for reaching the minimum height for riding reality with today's Groupon to Edaville USA.

  • It is a lot of fun for both adults and children. There are other activities besides the trains too so pack a lunch and plan on spending the day. – Elizabeth H., Insider Pages
  • In addition to the 15-20 minute train ride around the facility, they have quite a few mid-way type rides for the whole family to enjoy. My son's favorite part is the free standing engines that you are allowed to climb into and explore. – remedSC, TripAdvisor
  • The train ride was the perfect length to keep a small child's attention (about 20 mins.). The park is the perfect size for a toddler. – amaleigh13, TripAdvisor

About Edaville USA Amusement Park

In 1946, Ellis D. Atwood began to build a sanctuary for one of America's most magnificent beasts: the railway train, which was then on the brink of extinction. He rescued equipment from short lines in Maine and laid tracks around his cranberry bogs, where they would cart his harvests and carry visitors on scenic tours. These day trips became such a draw that Ellis decided to augment his plantation with amusement attractions and holiday light displays. The park borrowed his initials to form its name, Edaville, and today, more than 70 years since Ellis purchased the first of his rails, the park continues to welcome families who flock there for over 90 rides & attractions, the panoramas of growing cranberries.

On 20-minute scenic train rides on a life-sized replica of everyone's favorite No. 1 Engine, guests can take in all of the sights and sounds at Edaville, including the Ferris wheel, the spinning coaster, the Tilt-a-Whirl, and Red Baron plane rides, and the classic carousel and souvenir general store. Other highlights of whimsical theme park include Thomas Land, which recreates the storybook world of the Island of Sodor with familiar destinations such as Knapford Station and Tidmouth Sheds, and themed rides featuring characters such as Troublesome Trucks Roller Coaster, Cranky the Crane and Harold the Helicopter. And for junior adventures, the Dino Land Walking Trail is populated with 23 life-size animatronic dinosaurs. Fall and winter seasons transform the park into a sparkling venue for Christmas lights and visits with Santa, with select dates offering Santa VIP train rides or magical rides.
