What You'll Get
Making gourmet burgers, like juggling, balances the careful art of adding unexpected yet delightful elements with the cautions of keeping hands away from open flames. Dine on the work of an artist with today's Groupon: for $27, you get a two-course meal for two, including any one appetizer (up to an $11 value), any two burgers (a $14 value each), and a choice of two regular milkshakes (a $5.75 value each) or two beers (up to a $7.75 value each) at The Eddie Burger + Bar in Banff (up to a $54.50 total value).
The grill masters at The Eddie Burger + Bar mould patties from meats such as AAA Alberta beef, bison, elk, and lamb to munch alongside hearty appetizers and pours of beer or creamy milkshakes. Menu items provide ample indulgences, including starters such as chili-cheese fries—potato strips swimming in a pool of veggie chili and clutching to cheese-curd rafts. Prairie oysters, a three-part choir of meatballs made of different proteins, burst with cheesy notes as they wade through gravy downpours. Meat dressers clothe the Alberta bison burger, putting the dapper buffalo in a slimming english-muffin suit and double-smoked bacon tie, adding sautéed mushroom and goat cheese for an eye-popping entrance that inspires cell-phone paparazzo to surround the table. Chicken and veggie patties are also available to add lighter fare to the main-course menu.
When taking a break from munching, mouths can take in libations from the milkshake or beer menu. Domestic brews fizz with tales of arm-wrestling grizzlies, and imports bubble bearless stories from across continents. Shakes are made from MacKay's ice cream, a rich and milky concoction handmade in Cochrane, Alberta.
