Storytelling's at the heart of all that flows from The War and Treaty. Creating music influenced by Americana, soul, classical and country, the trio consists of husband-and-wife vocalists Michael Trotter Jr. (who also plays keyboards) and Tanya-Blount Trotter on tambourine, along with cellist Thillman Benham. Officially together as a band since first playing together last year at Baltimore's Hard Rock Cafe, the members have individually played in Switzerland, Germany, Kuwait, the UK and Canada, adding international flavor to their music. Michael writing songs on the banks of the Euphrades River while stationed in Baghdad, and Tanya enjoying tea with Julie Andrews, Whoopi Goldberg and the late James Coburn while performing in Sister Act II have also enriched the band's stories and experiences.
