About Eddyville Raceway Park
Race cars have been zipping down Eddyville Raceway Park's 1/8-mile drag strip ever since it opened in 1965, though you might have missed most of them if you blinked. Today, the IHRA-sanctioned track hosts 50 races per season, including weekend showdowns on Friday and Saturday nights. Oil-chugging crowds descend on the park for specialty events such as The Night of Fire, an annual showcase of funny cars, jet cars, and other vehicles that can reach speeds of more than 200 miles per hour. The 60-acre park is also home to a campground, a playground for kids, and a stable where motorbikes can sleep for the night.
