Tortillas encase their contents in a soft shield of flour, just as Members Only jackets encase their wearers in a soft shield of elitism. Break through culinary barriers with today’s Groupon: for $26, you get a meal for two at El Saguarito (up to a $54.50 value). The meal includes:

  • One regular cheese crisp (a $9.50 value)
  • Two entrees (up to a $12.95 value each)
  • Pitcher of house margaritas with Sauza tequila (a $19 value)

For 22 years, the cuisine conductors at El Saguarito have orchestrated a flavorful symphony of heart-healthy Mexican feasts that use canola oil in the place of lard. Taste buds bathe in the gooey goodness of the El Saguarito–style cheese crisp, a grilled tortilla topped with cheese, green chilies, onion, and tomato. Seafood-savvy palates can compare true or imaginary fishing triumphs over entrees such as fish tacos filled with savory tilapia, cabbage, tomato, and a bright splash of lime. A plate of barbacoa—shredded beef simmered in pickling spices and green olives—with tortillas tunes forks to sing at a piquant frequency, and pairs of red beef, green corn, or vegetarian tamales sing savory duets. As diners nosh on the savory fare, lips transform into goofy grins over a pitcher of margaritas made with Sauza tequila, ideal for toasting to the memory of favorite piñatas.

El Saguarito

For 22 years, El Saguarito chefs have orchestrated a flavorful symphony of heart-healthy Mexican feasts that use canola oil in place of lard, a decision spurred by co-owner Blanca Vasquez's vegetarianism. El Saguarito–style cheese crisps precede dinner and whet appetites with a grilled tortilla topped with cheese, green chilies, onion, and tomato, followed by entrees such as fish tacos and plates of barbacoa—shredded beef simmered in pickling spices. At the bar, lips transform into goofy grins over imported draft beers and margaritas made with Mexican tequilas, ideal for toasting to the memory of favorite piñatas.

The eatery also equips its interior with big-screen TVs to watch high-stakes games and free WiFi to facilitate web searches on how to throw a burrito in a perfect spiral. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, live music floats throughout the patio.
