What You'll Get
Like Samson, a man's physical strength is directly proportional to the length of his hair, which is why The Beatles spent most of the 1960s crushing classical marble busts with their bare hands. Trade some strength for a new look with today's Groupon: for $20, you get a men's haircut (a $45 value) at Ele Ela International Salon, located in the Mission.
Ele Ela International Salon specializes in beautifying services for both sides of the gender divide. Entrust your overgrown shag to the skilled staff of locks landscapers, and they'll treat it to a world-class trimming and shaping with a men's haircut. Under the guidance of owner and 25-year mane-maintenance expert Odilon Vasconcelos, a friendly, personable stylist will work with each contour of your dome, snipping away unsightly fuzz and retractable roofs. The deliberate techniques will give way to a sleek styling that is at once personalized to your panache and carefully tamed for head-turning turns at the office or local trapeze tent.
Ele Ela's warm, clean, and calm environment eases tensions for personable, non-flammable fireside chats with the staff, who may be willing to share tales about their past run-ins with Tom Selleck and other galactic politicians. Call ahead to make an appointment.
New clients only.

About Ele-Ela International Salon
Since he dyed his first head of hair in his native Brazil, owner and master colorist Odilon Vasconcelos has spent almost 30 years styling hair in France, Spain, Argentina, and the U.S. He prides himself on imbuing Ele-Ela—Portuguese for "him and her"— with "elegant yet unpretentious surroundings." To round out this carefully tended environment, Vasconcelos has recruited an expert team of stylists, including Jesse Nino, who has garnered extensive experience working in the fashion industries of both New York and Los Angeles. Odilon, Jesse, and the team use Brazilian Blowout, Phyto Organics, and American Crew products to deck out humans and supposed humans with a fresh look. Visitors can also get gussied up with manicures, pedicures, and waxing.
