Q:

Hi, all my toe nails are fungal for 8 years. How many treatments are necessary and if there is interval time between them? How much it will cost me if covered by extensive medical care blue cross?.What are the chances to heal it compleatly and if it can come back?Any side effects post treatment?Thank you,Kati.

kati m.  asked on  Dec 17, 2012

A:

Hello Kati, Generally if you have had it for 5-7 years you need 1-2 treatments. You can get 2nd treatment after 5-6 weeks. At that time enough of your nails have grown to see if another treatment is needed. This procedure is considered cosmetic but you can try submitting a reciept to your insurnace for reimbursement. The success rate is 70% with one treatment for people who have had it less then 7 years. You can still get this again but we go over everything in consulation how to avoid that. There are no side effects to this treatment.

Q:

I'm not certain the nail problem is actually fungus - the nail is growing in very deformed (funky from the base). We are waiting for a culture to determine if it is actually fungus - if not and I buy a Groupon, can I be reimbursed?

Rae B.  asked on  Dec 16, 2012

A:

Hello Rae, I would suggest waiting for culture. We can honor the groupon price at a later date for you.

Q:

My husband only needs his two big toes done. What would be the price please?

Elsa P.  asked on  Dec 14, 2012

A:

Hello Elsa, We still have to do the entire foot as there are fungal spores on adjacent toes. It takes few months for the fungus to grow enough to visually see it. He would need the $299 option.
