During laser hair-removal treatments, a Lightsheer Diode (or Q-Clear laser, best for clients with darker skin) system sends laser energy beneath the skin to disable the follicle's hair-growth capabilities. The system is adjusted to treat each client's skin and hair colour, and its cooling tip prevents skin from becoming too uncomfortable. Normal treatment time between visits is 6–8 weeks.
