If you know nothing about lip blushing, please read up on it before you decide whether to have the procedure done. That said, while I took off one star for the discomfort of the lip blushing session, the results were amazing. I have had compliments from people even the first day with the swelling still apparent. While this experience was by far the most uncomfortable permanent makeup session, the end result, I believe will be well worth the time and pain. Elicea is very personable, kind, patient, and professional. She answered all of my questions and went over what she would be doing. She discussed colors with me and was pleased I brought my usual lip colors with me so she could get an idea of what I wanted for the end color. She mapped out the shape of my lips and showed it to me for my approval while my lips were numbing. It took about 40 minutes for the initial numbing and when Elicea began the blushing session, I felt no discomfort at all. As the session progressed, the discomfort rose since the numbing cream was wearing off and Elicea was going over the already inked areas multiple times to build on the color. I've had regular tattoos done and also my brows and eyeliner before, but this was by far the most painful experience of all. Do communicate with Elicea if you need a break or if the discomfort is unbearable so she can make adjustments. I was there over four hours due to the numbing time and consultation as well as the actual inking. Most of the pain, I discovered once I got home, was from the swelling of my lips. My gums and teeth also hurt from the swelling in my lips and I felt like I had dental work done. Once I got the swelling down at home, the pain dissappeared and I was able to eat, drink, and sleep without any discomfort at all. While I am not fortunate like some people who can actually fall asleep during the blushing session, I do plan to return for a touch-up. Once that is done and the healing part is completed, I don't foresee having to return for another session as long as I use a good moisturizing lip balm with a strong SPF. I was told a former co-worker had his lips done over three years ago and his lips still look great. If I get three or more years of gorgeous lip color, I will be very happy. Do give Elicea a call if you want carefree lip color for years to come. Follow the precare and after care instructions fully. Elicea is kind, friendly, patient, and very talented. She won't stop working until you are happy with the end result. Book your session with confidence.
