About Elite Martial Arts Dojo
The Elite Martial Arts Karate Dojo was founded by Sensei Ventsislav Sholin, a former Balkan and Bulgarian National Champion. Having spent over 25 years practicing karate and having reached the rank of 3rd Dan Black Belt, he had the desire to pass his knowledge on to others in his community. Sensei Sholin firmly believes that an essential part to mastering an art and way of life like karate is to give it away. By operating a karate and Brazilian Jiu-Jit dojo in Woodland Hills, Sensei Sholin is hoping to continue the legacy of Sosai Masutatsu Oyama, the founder of Kyokushin karate. Ed Macione, our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor, was first introduced to martial arts in the form of Muay Thai. From that moment, he became inspired in martial arts, which led him to his journey in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It immediately became his passion. In 2005, he started training under the tutelage of the legendary Rickson Gracie at the Rickson Gracie academy in West Los Angeles. Rickson is regarded as a living legend in the sport. He continued his training under his coach Chris Lisciandro from the Street Sports Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu team, where he’s been training consistently ever since. After all these years on the mat, his passion for Jiu-Jitsu has only gotten stronger. His teaching style is known for being very technical, and he is known for his keen attention to detail. He views Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as a lifestyle which can change people’s lives, and his goal is to transfer his knowledge and passion to his students.
