What You'll Get
Grape juice magically transforms into wine in the same way milk becomes cheese and a 1972 Dodge Dart becomes an even older 1972 Dodge Dart. Tipple the tasty transformation with today's Groupon: for $25, you get a wine tasting for one at Elk Run Vineyards (a $50 value).
Garnering more than 500 national and international awards, Elk Run carefully cultivates its serene orchards to concoct illustrious imbibitions. Experienced wine enthusiasts present Elk Run's wine line-up in either the candlelit, barrel-strewn winery or in the tasting room overlooking the vineyard. Select six wines to pleasantly paint your palate, tie-dying your tongue with a rainbow of tanniny reds, crisp whites, frostbitten ice wines, and dulcet ports. Elk Run harvests local cheeses and breads to accompany smooth sips, ensuring the elegant ambience remains undisturbed by grumbling bellies. Post-tasting, sommeliers are gifted with a commemorative glass for future quaffs or time-traveling past toasts. Call to schedule your tasting Friday through Sunday between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

About Elk Run Vineyards
Underneath the same country sky which blankets Frederick County Dairy farms and horse stables, the Elk Run vineyard sits on the rolling hills of Mt Airy on an original land grant to Lord Baltimore in 1756. These ideal growing conditions have allowed consistent award winning wines by the same winemaker Fred Wilson for 35 years, producing National and International Gold Silver and Double Gold medals for such wines as Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay and Gewurzrtraminer. Elk Run's winemaker crafts these libations using a blend of contemporary equipment and Old-World wine making techniques. They harvest grapes from plots planted in schist and shale soil designed to follow sustainable agricultural practices, a modus operandi that has helped the winery become one of the top 100 wineries on the East Coast, as well as one of the most acclaimed wineries in the state of Maryland.
