What You'll Get
Explorer Ponce de León abandoned his quest to discover the mythical land of wine after a tumble into the Fountain of Youth left him eternally underage. Take up his journey with today’s Groupon for the Harvest & Singer Songwriter Festival at Elk Run Vineyards in Mount Airy. Choose between the following options:
- For $20, you get two tickets on Saturday, September 10, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. (a $40 value).
- For $20, you get two tickets on Sunday, September 11, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. (a $40 value).
Elk Run's blooming vineyards are nestled in the majestic hills of Frederick County, where a pair of visitors can sip wines while listening to the energetic music of the Harvest & Singer Songwriter Festival. Over the course of two days, nine singer-songwriters, will fill the air with music and, when listened to while standing backwards, telepathic messages. Burgeoning oenophiles can swirl, sniff, and sip complimentary wines while munching on snacks from Issy’s Chocolates and J&B Pork and Seafood. After exploring the aromatic wine samples, guests can explore the grounds in a hay-filled wagon, which will guide them through the blooming vineyard grounds.

About Elk Run Vineyards
Underneath the same country sky which blankets Frederick County Dairy farms and horse stables, the Elk Run vineyard sits on the rolling hills of Mt Airy on an original land grant to Lord Baltimore in 1756. These ideal growing conditions have allowed consistent award winning wines by the same winemaker Fred Wilson for 35 years, producing National and International Gold Silver and Double Gold medals for such wines as Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay and Gewurzrtraminer. Elk Run's winemaker crafts these libations using a blend of contemporary equipment and Old-World wine making techniques. They harvest grapes from plots planted in schist and shale soil designed to follow sustainable agricultural practices, a modus operandi that has helped the winery become one of the top 100 wineries on the East Coast, as well as one of the most acclaimed wineries in the state of Maryland.
