Q:

I have a tear in one of my shoulders. Would this hinder me from participating and attaining maximum benefits? Can workouts be modified to accommodate me?

Zulma G.  asked on  May 7, 2012

A:

He Zulma: Working out with an injury, especially with a potentially serious injury, is never a good idea! A shoulder injury will definitely prevent your obtaining maximum benefits, moreso intense boot camp training could worsen your injury. Typically, rest and exercise therapy will help heal an injured rotator cuff. However surgery is sometimes required. Suggest you get your shoulder healed first before engaging in boot camp. We'll be here when you are ready! Best, EPBC

Q:

Can these classes be taken by someone with knee and back issues?

Theresa L.  asked on  May 6, 2012

A:

Hi Theresa: Boot Camp may or not suitable for you depending on the severity of your knee & back issues. Boot Camps are typically quite intense, requiring running, jumping, pressing, pushing, lifting, pulling, squatting etc. Best to check with your heath care provider to clear you for boot camp type workouts.
