Ember Grille—one of the Westin Chicago River North's beautiful dining spaces—entreats guests to enjoy a menu bursting with healthy breakfasts and steakhouse-inspired lunch. Chefs cook six varieties of prime steak over open flame, and both menus help diners eat guilt-free with dishes certified by the health-food organization SuperFoodsRx. These options include shaved turkey salad with blue cheese and strawberries, and a whipped egg-white omelet with roasted plum tomatoes.
As flames sear steaks in the kitchen, smoky gray curtains provide privacy between booths in the dining room. Ivory drum lights hang from the ceiling, and upholstered chairs encircle candlelit tables. The view is perfect for the daytime-only service, as the restaurant's windows frame sunlit sections of the Chicago River and colorful species of birds running their morning errands.
