Like howling at the moon, music can nonverbally communicate yearning, excitement, or profound regret over forgetting to pay the electric bill. Speak with pitch and timbre with today's Groupon to Emerald City Suzuki Strings. The fall group class schedule begins on August 13. Choose between the following options:
For $40, you get one month of “Violin Book I/II” lessons for adults (a $108 value).
For $40, you get one month of "Pre-twinkle I" (for children aged 3–5) or "Pre-twinkle II" (for children aged 6 or older) violin lessons (a $108 value).
Emerald City’s expert violinist and instructor Tiffany Kettel teaches blossoming musicians of all ages how to harness their skills through violin classes. Courses follow the Suzuki method, which applies a foundation of encouragement, repetition, and surprise lie-detector tests to help students learn the violin in a positive, organic manner. Students attend weekly 30-minute private lessons and meet with their respective beginner classes for weekly 60-minute group lessons, learning from the alpha and beta books of the violin canon before ending each lesson with a stress-reducing blast of the school’s violin cannon. Beginner classes do not require musicians to bring an instrument, as they are provided a box violin to learn correct posture or presented a tree and an axe to learn how to whittle their own instruments. Each child must be accompanied by a caregiver during lessons.
