Q:

I have a credit for two Groupon classes that expired last Dec. I would like to use that credit to purchase two of the current Groupon offers. How do I do that? Thanks, Eileen S.

Eileen S.  asked on  Mar 27, 2013

A:

The amount paid for Groupons that have already expired ($37 each, prior to this year) may be applied to flying trapeze classes, and you will then pay the difference ($42 each) upon arrival. Your credit is with Emerald City Trapeze Arts, not with Groupon, so you can't really use your expired Groupons as credit towards other Groupon deals. You are welcome to use your expired Groupons with us if you like, just call or email and we'll get you signed up. If you have additional questions, you can contact Groupon directly and I'm sure they would be happy to help.

Q:

Could this groupon be used for non-trapeze aerial classes? I'm more interested in learning silks and ropes at this point.

Danielle  asked on  Mar 26, 2013

A:

Unfortunately, this Groupon is only for Flying Trapeze. However, if you want to come check out our studio with this class first, your membership fee is included, so aerial classes will then be $20-$30 if you want to come back and try those!

Q:

How many people allowed in each class? I am planning on getting a group together for my birthday in June to do this and wondering how large or small the group can be.

Tanya G.  asked on  Mar 26, 2013

A:

We would love to have your group come fly with us! We generally limit class sizes to 10 students (2 students minimum). If you are looking for a private class, we require at least 8 students, and are willing to extend the class size to 11 or 12. If you have more than 10 though, it's important to remember that the more people there are, the fewer turns everyone will get. If you have fewer than 8, you can pay for the difference and have a private class, or you will be in an open class that could potentially have other students in it as well.

Q:

Why does it say that the regular price is $79 so that it appears the discount is greater - when I go to the company website it says that normal rate is $48 for two hours, so $39 for the Groupon is not that much difference and certainly not 70+ % off.

sonya w.  asked on  Mar 26, 2013

A:

Our price per class is $53 (raised from $48 as of March 1st). This has probably not been updated fully throughout our website yet. We have a membership fee that each new student must pay, of $26. So for a new student, the cost of a flying trapeze class is $79. Once you pay the membership fee (if you buy the Groupon, it's included), you never have to pay it again. Apologies for the confusion!

Q:

Would I be allowed to wear my glasses during the class? I'd be very uncomfortable if I couldn't see very well (I can't wear contacts).

Shannon R.  asked on  Mar 25, 2013

A:

Unfortunately, we do caution against wearing glasses if at all possible, as they may break and cause injury to yourself. However, we have students like you all the time, and we promise you'll be just fine! You will only be without them on the trapeze, and may put them on as soon as you're on the ground again. You do not need to see clearly to have a successful or enjoyable class. Flying trapeze is all about trust - this will only help you reach that faster!
