What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Over 20 years of experience in lawn care and landscaping. Running my own business that long, I have always stayed small and am always on the property I’m working on. That helps clients know I’m there and approachable. I’m focused more on lawn treatments, and I changed to liquids in the cool season, which work faster.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I started mowing as a teenager for work. Then, out of college, I needed work while looking for a job, and my business took off from there.
What do you love most about your job?
All the knowledge I have learned in turf science over the years lets me help clients understand what the problem is in their yard, [instead of] just treating the problem and giving a bill. [As an example], I learned to save people money when I see they have bermuda and fescue grass mixed. Bermuda grass will win that battle.
What is the best reaction you’ve ever gotten from a customer?
If they are on a yearly program, they don’t have to call me. I keep to my obligations that I laid out for them in their program.
