The schedule brims with group fitness classes, including Pilates mat workouts, Latin-inspired Zumba dance parties, and a Cardio Interval Blast class. All classes are women-only except for tai chi and yoga.<p>
Joan Brame, PhD, and her staff of personal trainers and instructors aim to help women empower themselves through exercise and knowledge, offering a range of workout equipment, small group fitness classes with individualized attention, and free nutrition and health workshops. The supportive, friendly environment houses a mirrored group fitness studio where students can salsa to Zumba's Latin-inspired choreography or perform equipment-bolstered body-weight exercises during Weights and Resistance classes.
To jumpstart new members, personal trainers meet with them for an assessment and to develop a customized 30-day plan with specific, attainable goals. Then, they'll meet again for a 30-day review to see how things are going. For even more one-on-one help, the staff offers personal training, as well as "buddy" sessions that allow clients to work alongside a friend or government-issued surrogate of a friend.
