What You'll Get
Drinking coffee, like yelling at the cat, thinking about motorcycles, and setting fire to the neighbor's wicker man, is vital to starting each day. Inaugurate the a.m. with today's Groupon: for $6, you get $12 worth of coffee drinks, smoothies, and pastries at Empresso Coffeehouse.
Located in the vintage environs of the Stockton Empire Theater, Empresso Coffeehouse coddles the insides of cups with its large selection of specialty coffees served alongside loose-leaf teas, smoothies, and fresh-baked pastries. Start your day with a specialty drink such as a white mocha frappe ($3.95/16 oz.) or try the coffee of the day ($1.75/16 oz.), an ever-rotating brew that changes as often as a time-traveler's slang. Parched patrons can relax on the covered outdoor patio with an italian soda ($2.15/16 oz.) or sit in the WiFi-enriched confines of the café, sipping an island-berry smoothie blended from pineapple, strawberry, and mango ($4.45). Baristas froth up cappuccinos ($3.45/16 oz.), and fresh pastries and desserts soak up enough caffeine to prevent patrons from bouncing off the walls like a poster mounted on rubber.

About Empresso Coffeehouse
A movie-theater marquee beckons passersby to Empresso Coffeehouse. Bistro tables are scattered on the sidewalk where perhaps a ticket booth once stood. Inside, the cafe takes on the air of a lobby, but with a ceiling circled by neon uplighting and a concession-style stand where customers place their orders.
Here, coffee is the featured event, and cups of joe are brewed in one of three ways: drip, pour-over, or french press. For espressos drinks spiked with caramel or cinnamon, the baristas create artful images in the foam—of a heart, perhaps, or a leaf, or a rabbit giving a bald man bunny ears. They offer solid sustenance as well, in the form of made-to-order breakfast sandwiches, house-made pastries, and pizzas on ciabatta bread.
