Stylist super nice. But all she did was wash and cut that’s it. This was just terrible

False advertisement. She’s collecting money from Groupon, only to tell you she will not provide the services you paid for because “the only people that come there come with Groupons,” so after paying for a cut, deep conditioning, and style, I left there looking like I just got out of the shower. She said she’ll style it for an extra $20. I said I’m fine. She said you can straighten it at home

It seems the owner just likes to collect the money but, not deliver the service you paid for. I paid for: cut , deep conditioning and styling. I was told that the styling was extra, they were not honoring the voucher in full. The lady that cut my hair was very nice but, she wasn't the owner and unfortunately she has to hear it from everyone that goes there. The owner doesn't give her face, she doesn't care. The haircut was ok, a bit too short, I brought pictures, I advised her that it needed to be basically trimmed. It's not what I wanted, but at this point what can you do? Groupon should get in touch with owner and advise her to change her vouchers if she is not honoring what she is selling.

The good: Gladys was lovely and gave me exactly what I wanted in my haircut, checking with me as we went along (in terms of length/styling). The bad: a “style blow dry” is not included in the Groupon- I personally don’t think you can know if a haircut is complete w/o drying hair. Having said that, she did dry it enough to make sure the cut was good. The ugly: wasn’t overly clean & inside ShopRite

Preserving Hair Color: Dialing Back the Fade

A new hair color can transform your entire look—as well as your haircare routine. Learn how to get the most mileage out of your color with Groupon’s quick tips.

No one wants to watch their hair color—and all the money they spent on it—slide down the drain with every shower. But it’s hard to avoid. One of Pantene’s senior scientists told Good Housekeeping magazine that up to 80% of color fade is due to “water alone, not shampooing or scrubbing.” This is because dye changes not only the color, but the structure of hair: in order to penetrate the strand, it must first strip away its outer layer of lipids. The result is hair that’s more porous, actually soaking up more water from the shower and weird dreams from the brain. Not all colors fade at the same rate—red dye’s molecules tend to be larger than those of other colors, leaving them less likely to burrow deep into the hair shaft and more likely to hitch a ride on a stream of water.

Though some fade is inevitable, you can minimize the damage simply by shampooing less often, rinsing with cooler water, and—most importantly—sticking to products designed especially for color-treated hair. You can further protect your hue by cutting down your exposure to hot styling tools, direct sunlight, chlorine, saltwater, and stylists who work at the bottom of a seaside hotel’s pool. You can also take preventive measures: washing tresses with a clarifying shampoo one day before coloring can strip away buildup so that color can work itself deeper into strands.
