What You'll Get
For centuries, philosophers have asked the heavens: "What does it mean to be waxed?" "Can one truly be waxed?" And, most often, "Auggghhh! Why does it HURT?" Today's Groupon lets you wax philosophic without the painful soul-searching or just plain pain. For $8, you get a lip wax (an $8 value) and eyebrow wax (a $12 value) from Esty Skin Studio, an earthy, green-hued studio inside Soma Vida in East Austin.
Chief Holistic Beautifier and High Priestess of the Cloud Kingdom of Esty Lady Jessica Nelson molded her studio from the wax of creation to be a place where each individual can get a depilatory treatment tailored to their needs and free of stress. As you recline on her Altar of Wax, Jessica and her team will use a series of waxings to cast out the rebellious, nonformational hairs from your eyebrows—reshaping your skepticism transmitters into fantastically expressive crescent moons (or angled slopes to convey perpetual peevedness) for four to six weeks. Esty will also evict the downy rascals from your upper lip so that your majestic philtrum is clear and clean for summer's competitive kissing season. Esty never "double dips" its wax, even if they're low on applicator Doritos, so you're ensured a clean, sanitary waxing session.
Up to three waxing treatments may be necessary to achieve angelic hairlessness, which is why you may buy up to five of today's Groupon to Esty Skin Studio. While wax adheres to most everyone, certain individuals on blood thinners, Accutane, Retin-A, and any vitamin A products may suffer from thinner skin or extra stickiness and could therefore experience an uncomfortable burning sensation. About Esty Skin Studio
In a sense, Esty Skin Studio began when its owner, Jessica Chapman, was 15. At this ripe age, she was given her first spa day as a gift. It enchanted her. After immediately falling in love with the industry, she started on a path that had her working for numerous spas at the age of 16. The aesthetic wunderkind wound her way further down that path by taking countless classes, working with mentors, and training other aestheticians, all of which culminated with her latest endeavor, Esty. Together with a staff of equally skilled beautifiers, Jessica presents indulgent facials, clarifying peels, and full-body waxes that use all-natural Épillyss products. Their experience, the beautiful spa in which they work, and their passion for skincare have garnered the team numerous press accolades and enough post-treatment high-fives to necessitate custom kevlar gloves for the entire staff.
