Q:

This procedure doesn't seem to be described on your website. Could you please link to a more thorough description and/or explain the procedure here? Thank you.

A:

Sorry for the delay! Laser dermablation uses a beam of light to remove the superficial layer of the topmost layer of the skin. The laser is tunable and can remove precise amounts of the topmost layer. It is a superficial treatments aimed at reducing pigment and improving texture. At more aggressive settings the same procedure can be used to combat deeper signs of aging.

Q:

What is the difference between laser dermabrasion and regulator dermabrasion? Is there downtime with this procedure? Thanks!

Dilys B.  asked on  Feb 8, 2013

A:

Traditional dermabrasion utilizes crystal or non crystal based abrasive agent to mechanically remove skin. Laser dermablation uses a beam of lite capable of removing a precise amount from the superficial layers or skin. There may be minimal erythema which may last 2 to 3 days.
