Art allows humans to express ideas without the spoken word, much like writing a poem or dancing in a movie theater after breakdancing in the glow-stick factory. Express your creativity in the right environment with today's Groupon: for $65, you get a youngster one week of classes (a $125 value), including all required materials (a $10 value), at ETTA Art Studio in Amherst (a $135 total value). Through the middle of August, three-hour summer sessions will be held Monday–Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.; fall sessions will be announced by August 15.
The nonprofit organization ETTA Art Studio splashes the Amherst community with artistic spirit flowing from the brain brushes of its experienced local artists and teachers. The master masterpiece makers pass on their creative tutelage via classes that cover clay working, drawing, puppet making, theater, and other artful subjects. On July 25–29, kids can swing by the studio for Fantastic Fairylands (ages 5–11) or Giant Puppetmaking, Improv + Movement (ages 8–12). And August 1–5, Collage, Diorama, and Painting (for ages 8–10) empowers pupils with the ability to construct fan mail for Vincent van Gogh.
Classes are limited to 8–12 students to ensure personal attention between expert crafter and novice artiste, thereby enhancing the curb appeal of all finished works. Click here to view more information on classes, dates, and times.
