Before the development of yoga, people could only stretch their bodies by impersonating saltwater taffy and sneaking into taffy pulls. Avoid becoming a sugary treat with today's Groupon: for $20, you get eight yoga classes at Evansville Power Yoga (up to a $56 Value).
Certified Yogis, Mark Goltiao and Andrew Rodenberg create limber students stiff frames through a fusion of breathing and flowing movements in classes of varying levels. During an optional foundational class, an instructor provides first time yoga participants with one-on-one instruction of basic yoga moves, teaching them that a downward dog does not require a leash or kennel. Equipped with essential wisdom, pupils can progress to a beginner's flow class—which outlines the basic power yoga sequence of strong movements and dynamic breathing—or progress to the quickened pace and stronger workout during an intermediate to advanced session. Andrew leads the slow power sessions, which slow the pace down, allowing students to go deeper into poses, fine tune alignment, and giggle at deepened slow-motion voices. More than 50 possible poses allow instructors to constantly vary sequences, creating a familiar workout that doesn't get dull.
