Though it is illegal for pranksters to shout about non-existent fires in a theater, shrieking after an encounter with an underseat gum wad is permissible. Among the holidays’ most tutu-heavy traditions, The Nutcracker regales audiences with the timeless tale of young Clara and her wooden nutcracker, which comes to life to lead Clara down a path of excitement and whimsy. Treat your peepers to the slippered pageantry and lavish costumes of the production as The Nutcracker skirmishes with a rodent army led by the Rat King, then whisks Clara off to a fantastical kingdom ruled by the Sugar Plum Fairy via a system of parliamentary democracy. Evergreen City’s practiced pirouetters bring the fanciful plot to life with each leap and twirl, spinning one of the holidays’ only stories that doesn’t revolve around elves that age in reverse.

The 1,100-seat Auburn Performing Arts Center and 500-seat Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center each provides excellent acoustical conditions for absorbing The Nutcracker’s famous score and playing epic games of Telephone.

The Renton Reporter featured the Evergreen City Ballet and CityVoters enthusiastically award it a perfect five stars: > * I love watching the dancers. They love what they are doing. Their performances have an intimate feeling but are so professional. The costumes are beautiful. It has become an annual tradition for me. – Mcjjak, CityVoter > * I have seen amazing shows at Evergreen City Ballet. – Cadouthw, CityVoter

Customer Reviews

It was a very enjoyable performance in a great facility. My daughter and I enjoyed it. We had not been able to get tickets to PNW Ballet so we opted to go to Evergreen. It is not comparable, but has a charm all it's own...more youth involved and we love supporting the arts and youth. Thanks for the preview Groupon as we would go again on our own :)

I bought this same Groupon again and both times.the experience.was amazing!
Liza R. · February 21, 2012
Good value for the price I paid for Groupon. Very much a family/young kids event. Shortened version just right for my 5 year old. for me the ballet cut out some fav parts, it's aspiring & I commend the effort but the talent is very green. A couple dancers have the talent and put forth the effort to make it someday in a larger budget production but most you could tell were at x mas pageant level.
