Everlasting Yoga Studio by Donna Tracy
Though Donna Tracy started practicing yoga as a teenager, she didn't realize just how supportive it was until she turned 40. That was the age at which she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and discovered the pranayama—breathing exercises—helped keep her grounded and calm throughout six weeks of radiation and surgeries. Those same breathing and meditation exercises would bring her relief again five years later, when as part of a mastectomy she lost 18 inches of back muscle and had to overcome severe pain.
Because of her experience, Donna has committed herself to helping students of all ages overcome pain and physical obstacles by teaching everything from relaxation therapy and therapeutic yoga to Vinyasa flow, hot yoga, Kripalu yoga, and beginners' acroyoga. She even teaches seniors both at home and at assisted living facilities, modifying poses for those with walkers or in wheelchairs. In addition to regular classes, she also leads Yoga Alliance–registered yoga teacher training courses for those interested in earning their 200-hour certification.
