Due to the large number of ghosts they can hold, haunted houses are consistently scarier than cursed sleeping bags, possessed lean-tos, and ectoplasmic studio apartments. Go where the ghouls are with this Groupon.

Evil Intentions Haunted House
Evil Intentions Haunted House evokes the details of its site’s checkered past to conjure the stuff of nightmares. For more than a century, the area the haunted house now occupies has been plagued with creepy occurrences, from unsolved murders to mysterious disappearances and regular occult activity. Over the years, the expanse has been used as the premises of the former Elgin Casket Company, a stomping ground for escapees from a nearby mental institution, and a gathering place for the occult’s summer softball league.
Starting in 2005, the Evil Intentions Haunted House team slowly transformed this troubled spot into a haunted house that comes alive with shrieks once night falls. Visitors can leave their cars in the free parking lot and gather in the indoor waiting area before exploring 60,000 square feet of dusty halls and dark, fright-filled rooms. Costumed actors portraying demonic clowns, faceless butchers, and cleaver-wielding lunatics creep around corners and leap out of hidden alcoves, though there's always a chance passing patrons will encounter the actual ghosts who occupy the building. These intense frights combined with interactive storytelling and the venue's real-life paranormal history have earned the haunted house quite a few accolades: HauntedHouseChicago.com and HauntedIllinois.com rated Evil Intentions one of the top local haunts in 2013 and 2014.
