About Exposure Photography
Photographer Amanda Poulin frequently shoots portraits outdoors, framing her subjects amid tall, waving grasses, beside rushing rivers, and along train tracks. Within this pastoral atmosphere, she works to capture subjects when they're at play, often laughing and posing naturally or challenging wildlife to friendly games of rugby. This relaxed and candid look pervades all of her work, which ranges from photojournalism to wedding shoots and boudoir sittings. Just as importantly, Amanda displays an eye for fine detail in all of her settings. She photographs children on soft props such as pillows and blankets, and during weddings, she may zoom in to frame a hand pouring champagne or the intricate lace of a bridal veil. Her creativity also extends into the process of developing prints, when she can alter photos to add saturated hues, black-and-white tones, or old-timey sepia tints.
