About Extra Virgin
Michael Smith’s journey to becoming the chef and co-owner of Extra Virgin began when he was a child in his mother’s kitchen. A restaurant manager herself, Smith’s mom indoctrinated him into performing the daily tasks of working in a kitchen: peeling potatoes, washing dishes, and sword fighting lobsters. The discipline she instilled helped Smith earn his culinary chops across the United States, eventually leading to gigs as executive chef in both Kansas City and Nice, France.
