Q:

On average, about how much do lenses cost? I am just trying to get an idea of how much over the $200 I'll have to spend for the new frames and lenses.

Bonnie B.  asked on  Oct 25, 2012

A:

An average single vision lens with no additional coatings is $189. So if you picked out a frame for $159, that would leave you with $41 to go towards your lens. This would then bring down the price of the lens to $148.

Q:

What benefits are bicarbonate lenses

Rhonda G.  asked on  Oct 25, 2012

A:

Rhonda, I am not familiar with a bicarbonate lens. Do you mean to say polycarbonate? Why don't you give us a call and our optician can explain polycarbonate lenses to you. 504-837-8323

Q:

I'm due for new glasses and new contacts. Would the exam portion cover an exam for glasses and contact lenses?

Franki W.  asked on  Oct 24, 2012

A:

Franki, a contact lens fitting is much different than a regular glasses exam. There are more measurements that need to be taken and because of this, it is a higher cost. If you would like to get a contact lens fitting as well, it will be at least $90 depending on the type of contacts you wear and your prescription. If you would like more information about this, you can give us a call at 504-837-8323.

Rhonda G.  asked on  Oct 25, 2012

A:

Rhonda, you will get $200 to go towards your progressive lenses and frame, not $289.

Q:

Can this be applied to contacts too, or only glasses lenses?

Elizabeth T.  asked on  Oct 25, 2012

A:

No ma'am. This deal is strictly for glasses. If you would like to be fitted for contact lenses, it will be an additional fee.

Q:

I just went to Eyecare Associates for my check-up, but I need two pairs of single lense glasses, one sunglass prescription (for driving) and one regular. I always get scratch resistant (I guess polycarbonate?)and also "lighter" lenses. Can I apply the total amount to the two glasses rather than the exam?

Cyndi B.  asked on  Oct 24, 2012

A:

Cyndi, that is fine. You can apply the $200 towards those glasses and not get an exam. If you get a chance, give us a call and ask for Robyn. I will give you the hours we are open so you can know when to come in. You do not need an appointment since you aren't having the exam done. Our number is 504-837-8323.

Q:

Can this be used with insurance? Can I use insurance for ordering a set of contacts in addition to glasses

Carrie M.  asked on  Oct 24, 2012

A:

No ma'am. This groupon cannot be combined with insurance.

Q:

What type of lens material is included in that price?

Scot W.  asked on  Oct 24, 2012

A:

Any lens. Basically, you get $200 to go towards a frame and lenses. If you wear a progressive, prefer polycarbonate lenses, or like just regular plastic, the $200 can go towards that.

Q:

Would this be applicable for a child exam and frames?

kris r.  asked on  Oct 24, 2012

A:

How old is the child? If the child is old enough to comprehend and answer questions about their eyes (usually 5 and up) then yes, we can see them.
