Among the top places to be during an asteroid impact, a deli ranks second only to the comforting arms of Bruce Willis. Increase your odds of being in the right place at the right time with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of deli fare at Factor's Famous Deli.
Founded in 1948, Factor's dishes up heaping mounds of pastrami, thick corned-beef sandwiches, and a delectable assortment of delicatessen staples. The encyclopedic menu runs the gourmet gamut from the caesar salad ($10.25) to sirloin tips ($15.95 à la carte) to smoke salmon paninis ($11.95). Cure empty-belly syndrome with crispy nibbles of fried zucchini sticks, sweetened with an apricot dipping sauce ($7.95), or greet one of more than two dozen salads, including Factor’s Super House––a monumental mountain of turkey-topped muenster cheese, avocado, and chopped tomatoes ($13.95 for small, $16.95 for large). Pastrami partisans can also sink their taste buds into the No. 5 Triple Decker combination sandwich, which combines copious stacks of ruby-red meat with three pieces of rye bread and a choice of two sides ($15.95).
Inside Factor's, diners can cozy up to their food in plush, wood-furnished booths. Free wireless Internet keeps guests connected throughout the meal. Likewise, the sports-memorabilia bedecked walls provide a stargazing backdrop, unlike the deli's airy garden patio, which enables patrons to gaze at nature's daytime stars—airplanes piloted by soap-opera actors.

About Factor's Famous Deli
When the Markowitz family took control of Factor's Famous Deli in 1969, the eatery had already been thriving for more than two decades. Today, the second generation of Markowitzes still owns and operates the restaurant at its original location on Pico Boulevard. They man a deli counter where patrons can grab freshly roasted meats by the pound or carat. The menu is enormous, filled with breakfast wraps, omelets, paninis, meat loaf, and short ribs that customers can enjoy along with a booth's warm embrace and the approving gaze of sports and entertainment memorabilia. Three private dining rooms—including a sundrenched back room, a vine-lined garden patio, and a wine room ringed with exposed brick—set the stage for food-focused get-togethers with friends and family.
The Markowitz clan also caters events, delivering deli and fish platters to your home or underground party bunker, and welcoming guests to The Mark for Events. This stylish space, which glows a soft pink when low light flickers across its white walls, tables, and chairs, is managed by one of the Markowitz daughters.
