Q:

can I get a pair of sunglasses as my second pair?

Deirdre K.  asked on  Jul 11, 2013

A:

Traditional sunglasses frames don't qualify but many of our customers will make Rx Sunsglasses using an eyewear frame. With the broad selection we have, there are many suitable selections that would qualify. We do this all time for our customers.

Q:

I know that you wouldn't be able to give an exact answer to this, but what kind of average cost is a set of regular lenses with a mid range priced frame at Optiks International?

Alana W.  asked on  Jul 10, 2013

A:

We are running this Groupon all across Western Canada so I have really good data. The average sale is about $560 for two pair less the Groupon means abut $360 for 2 pair. The low price was $300 and the highest purchase was about $1200 so a broad selection for any price point

Jennifer S.  asked on  Jul 9, 2013

A:

Hello Jennifer. Yes the discount is off the first pair with the second pair free.

Q:

I would like to use this groupon to purchase one pair of glasses for myself, and one for a friend. Can we each get separate receipts so that we can bill our benefit plan? If so, what will be the amounts on the first and second receipts?

Donna H.  asked on  Jul 9, 2013

A:

Hello Donna. Yes you can split the 2 for 1 with a friend or family member and yes a different prescription would then result and that is fine. When we do a split and the parties have vision coverage insurance the cost of the product is split onto two invoices either 50/50 or based on the coverage meaning that is one party has more than we can proportionately split along the value of the product or the percentage of coverage. Really. quite a bit of flexibility.

Q:

Hi there, I'm hoping you can make this simple for me to understand. If my progressive perscription and frames will cost $800 does that mean I will get my complete glasses and my friend's progressive perscription & frames for $600 with this coupon? Thanks Joanne

Joanne  asked on  Jul 9, 2013

A:

Hello Joanne. Yes if the total purchase price for two pair was $800.00, with this Groupon you would pay $600.00

Q:

Hello, we bought your groupon this morning and went to your Victoria location. After picking out my frames I was told I was not eligible for the 200.00 groupon because my prescription was over 12 months old. I've looked over the 'fine' print and I do not see anywhere where it states the prescription must not be more than 12 months old. Can you please clarify if the store clerk gave me wrong information as I do not see this rule in the fine print.

Denise R.  asked on  Jul 7, 2013

A:

Hi Denise. This is not a rule of the Coupon. I will talk to the store manager tomorrow. The sale of prescription eyewear is regulated under the Health Professions Act. Like a pharmacist, an optician follows the direction of an optometrist and the law relating to dispensing eyewear. There may be circumstances that I am unaware of so I will investigate tomorrow and advise. As long as we are legally allowed to dispense the Groupon can be applied against the purchase

Q:

Can I use the groupon for one pair of glasses only ? Thank you,

Tracie N.  asked on  Jul 9, 2013

A:

Hello Tracie. The 2 for 1 can be shared with another eyeglass wearer so I would recommend that as an option. We could not offer a further discount just because of a single pair purchase so selecting a single pair does not provide a further discount

Q:

To clarify: If I use my current prescription do I get $200 off the cost of the frames? Thanks.

jill s.  asked on  Jul 8, 2013

A:

Yes, whether you have a valid prescription already or need a new valid prescription, the overall total credit toward your purchase is $200.

Q:

Can I purchase one regular pair of glassess and get a precription pair of sunglasses as my free pair?

Melissa R.  asked on  Jul 7, 2013

A:

His Melissa. The answer is yes with some caveats. I would recommend attending the store and walking through your options. I believe you will be able to come up with a selection you like but it's best were cautious to say 100 per cent yes.
