Frommer’s featured Fairville Inn and TripAdvisors give it an average of 4.5 owl eyes:

  • This inn perfectly combines antiques-filled loveliness with modern amenities, like great bathrooms and satellite TV. It's set on a pretty stretch of Route 52, between the Brandywine River Museum and Winterthur, and offers excellent breakfasts and afternoon tea. You'll enjoy privacy in an intimate setting. – Frommer’s
  • This B & B can not [sic] be beat for comfort, location, friendliness, and breakfasts. The breakfasts are the best of any B & B we have stayed at and we have stayed at a lot. Besides the excellent food, we were very impressed with the service at breakfast. – AuntAunnie, TripAdvisor

Fairville Inn Bed & Breakfast

It’s easy to see why readers of the travel-guide series Karen Brown’s Guides voted Fairville Inn Bed & Breakfast the Most Romantic Inn in the Mid-Atlantic in 2010. For starters, the inn—originally built circa 1825–1837 and now listed on the National Register of Historic Places—hasn’t lost any of its Old-World charm. Queen Anne–style reproductions such as white-draped canopy beds are found throughout the property. In the Main House, guests can gather on the porch or in front of the living room’s fireplace to socialize. You can even take afternoon tea out on a shaded patio next to the original summer kitchen and root cellar. The 5-acre grounds also feature manicured gardens and an innkeepers’ quarters.

Located in the heart of the Brandywine Valley, Fairville Inn is close to many local attractions. From this point, visitors are fewer than 10 minutes away from the stunning horticultural displays at Longwood Gardens and the antique-laden Winterthur Museum. You can also tour many local wineries that are clustered along the Brandwine Valley wine trail.

clicked on the wrong star before realized the process to rate since stars were not bold but "in a fog". we have reservations for next month but were there in April and are returning because of a wonderful experience with the owners and staff. we felt like it was our own home from the minute we walked in until be left 2 days later. the location is wonderful to see what is in the area and they are so helpful with directions to the things to see and making reservations where needed i.e. dinner. we will most likely go for a third time in the future. would recommend it to all.

This was our second time staying at The Fairville Inn and we will be back again for sure. The hospitality is wonderful the owners are very attentive to your needs and are always sure you have directions or reservations to where ever it is you are going. The rest of the staff is also very wonderful and kind. The breakfast is home made and it is great every time. The grounds are beautiful. A definite must cor any occasion. Lots to do in the area. My husband and I enjoy touring wineries and there are lots in that area. I will be back.
