Far East Joint
The Founder: Arthur Han has always loved food, and he always dreamed of opening his own restaurant. That dream came true in 2014 when Arthur and his wife Tran Ngo opened Far East Joint, where they offer Korean and Asian recipes with elements of American and Mexican cuisines.
The Food: Far East Joint identifies itself as a "fries and wing house," but just about everything on the menu has an Asian twist. Signature creations include sweet chili wings, fries smothered in Korean beef and grilled onions, and spicy tuna nachos built around housemade tortilla chips. The drink selection is just as creative, ranging from imported beers and Vietnamese coffee to chamango—mango purée mixed with shaved ice and chamoy.
The Cause: Arthur uses his restaurant to carry on the legacy of his late father, who spent his life helping kids in need. For every meal purchased, Far East Joint donates a portion of the proceeds to the Han-Schneider International Children's Foundation. This nonprofit organization—founded by Arthur's father—serves the world's underprivileged children by establishing the infrastructure to supply food, medicine, and clothing.
