As a child growing up in France, jazz singer Cyrille Aimée was captivated by the music of gypsies. Today, gypsy swing is only part of the French-Dominican singer's repertoire, which includes Brazilian songs, jazz standards and original pieces. You'll hear Aimée blend these sonic styles and more when she comes to the Ferst Center for the Arts at Georgia Tech. With her sunny voice and charming stage presence, she's won both the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition and the Montreux Jazz Festival vocal competition. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch describes her sound as "lighthearted, but not lightweight. Listening to her music is like drifting though an unusually pleasant dream." Catch the Brooklyn-based chanteuse performing songs from her new album Let's Get Lost.
