$45 for a Three-Class Flower-Arranging Program ($95 Value)

During one-hour sessions, green gurus lead students through the process of creating their own original arrangements. Green thumbs become fully hued as instructors teach the basics of color patterns, balance, design, and persuading feuding roses to sit side by side. Each week, attendees leave class sporting their own original floral creations ready to take home and brighten up drab domiciles. For extra study outside of the sessions, the shop’s website helps customers care for their blooms by fielding questions on plant food, cutting stems, and watering flowers.

Classes are held once weekly for three weeks in Boca Raton, Davie, and Miami. Sessions are available in English at all locations, and in Spanish at the Miami location. Though flowers and supplies are included, students must bring their own shears or scissors, or purchase them from Field of Flowers prior to the class ($12.70). Check the online schedule for class times.

About Field of Flowers

Field of Flowers' founder, Donn F. Flipse, didn't know it then, but he began a life of selling flowers back when he was a mere eight years old. He started off by sweeping up the fallen petals at his family's flower shop. Over time, he moved up in rank, delivering arrangements to their destination as soon as he got his license. After graduating college, he almost turned his back on the family business, but after mentoring under one of the shop's floral designers, he realized it was in his blood.

After this realization, he couldn't help but open his own shop—Field of Flowers. The business has serviced forlorn husbands and caring family memebers with one of the largest selections of fresh-cut flowers, plants, and floral and plant arrangements in South Florida since 1990. Each location even features a FlowerBar, which hosts basic, intermediate, and advanced sessions with step-by-step instruction for those who wish to craft their own floral designs.
