Q&A with Camilla Willings, Owner/Manager
Describe a time your services really changed a client's life for the better.
Many customers look [forward] to the time they spend riding with us as [it's] their chance to escape the stress and business of their daily life. They come to unwind, experience nature, and access their joy. Adding horses to their lives has changed them for the better, they say, and added overall to their quality of life.
What's one tip for first-time customers that will make them feel like regulars?
Wear pants [that are] comfortable to ride in (thick leggings, for instance) and boots with heels. Bring a helmet if [you] have [one]. Gloves are a good idea, too, lightweight [ones] in summer and warm ones in winter with a good grip.
When and how did you first develop a passion for your work?
[I] lost two family members to cancer in quick succession, and my horses were what kept me sane and helped me through. Caring for the horses and spending time with them helped me find joy again in life, and [I] wanted to share that with others. The barn is my church, and riding is my mindful practice/yoga.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
Many of my adult riding customers are people that felt a deep connection to horses and enjoyed them in their youth [but] then raising families and work got in the way of their horse life. So they are coming back to it as mature individuals wanting to re-access the joy of horses they felt when [they were] younger—a gift to their original selves.
