Rae has been very helpful and patient as an instructor, and very generous with what the coupon included.

My wife and I had a lot of fun pretending to turn pots and glaze them :) Thanks Fire & Mud Studios!

What You'll Get

Contrary to popular belief, pottery also lasts forever, since scientists continue to find Egyptian and Mayan pottery shards as well as the ubiquitous pottery ashtray. Make history with this Groupon.

Choose from Three Options

  • $49 for one 120-minute wheel-pottery class and one 60-minute glazing session (a $120 value)
  • $139 for three 120-minute wheel-pottery classes and one 60-minute glazing session (a $280 value)
  • $239 for five 120-minute wheel-pottery classes and two 60-minute glazing sessions (a $480 value)

During classes, students learn wheel-pottery techniques to create clay pieces. After finishing their sessions, participants leave their pieces to dry, returning at a later time to glaze them and make them safe for microwaves and food.

About Fire and Mud Studios

Artist Rae Holton sees energy. The owner of Fire and Mud Studios and lifelong arts and nature enthusiast harnesses her inimitable sight of what she calls "the vein-like serpentine flow of atoms" to create offbeat works of art in a variety of mediums. Raised among artists and craftspeople, Holton has dabbled in jewelry making, photography, cooking, and ceramics, and cultivated a love for teaching after stints as a children's ski instructor and after-school program educator. Helming her pottery-focused studio, Holton helps others unleash their inner artists through classes and workshops as students learn the history of ceramics or how to remove the head off a classical sculpture with a hedge trimmer.
