Supralase Laser Vision Center
As a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been practicing since 1975, Supralase Laser Vision Center's Dr. Douglas Rampona has seen eye-care technologies come and go. But not many eye doctors can say that they have developed and federally patented an all-laser procedure that corrects nearsightedness and astigmatism. The innovative process is called Supralase, and, unlike traditional LASIK or one-piece PJs, the forward-thinking treatment does not require the creation of a flap.
In addition to having a medical degree from Baylor University, Dr. Rampona has been elected Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and The Royal Society of Medicine. He also served his country in the military—both as a Naval medical officer and as a chief medical-readiness officer—and supports others around the globe by donating his time and services during medical and humanitarian missions. Supralase Laser Vision Center was recently added to Coastal Virginia magazine's Reader's Choice Awards 2014 list.
