Early man made many attempts at flying, such as sewing feathers onto his arms and scaling mountain peaks in order to cling to the underbellies of passing comets. Learn to fly the new-fashioned way with today's deal: for $60, you get a half hour discovery flight and DVD from First Landings Aviation (a $99 value). The sport pilot discovery flight lifts beginners from the perils of gravity into a half hour ride over a magnificent vista. The discovery flight begins with a lesson from one of First Landings Aviation’s certified flight instructors who demonstrate pre-flight and flying techniques. After climbing aboard a light sport aircraft, the certified pilot will taxi down the runway, explaining the process along the way, and lift the plane into the air. For the next half hour, you steer on metal wings as the plane soars through the pastel skies. Once the journey ends, the pilot will retake reins and float over the treetops for a landing back at the aviation school followed by a debriefing. Guests return home with a DVD capturing their weightless adventure.

About First Landings Aviation
The certified flight instructors at First Landings Aviation were all actively airborne by their 20s: Adam Valencic earned his Private Pilot's License at 19, and Chris Buell and Kyle Pack began flying at ages 12 and 13, respectively. The pilots harness their years-long enthusiasm for each individually tailored student program they offer, be it a half-hour Discovery flight, sport-pilot training, or private-pilot training. The sport-pilot flight-instructor course, meanwhile, affords students opportunities to practice their instruction skills before teaching others how to beat flocks of migratory geese in drag races. With their licenses in tow, pilots can also take the skies in one of First Landing Aviation's rental aircrafts.
