$199 for a Five-Hour Salmon Fishing Charter for Two ($475 value)
Up to two fishers pile into the boat, after which a certified captain ferries the aluminum vessel across fish-filled waters from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. or from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Provided tackle, safety gear, and equipment aid guests as they attempt to catch salmon and other fish. Afterward, the fishing pros clean and package each catch so it's ready for customers to eat or slip into the mail slot of their favourite neighbour. Guests must obtain a BC saltwater license with salmon tag prior to their charter as well as bring their own cooler, beverages, and food. Click here for a list of available charter dates.
FishBC.org's certified boat captain draws from 30 years experience to guide customers across the salmon-laden waters of the Campbell River. During charters, the fish guru pilots a 17-foot boat toward the best spots to snag salmon and wild bottles of tartar sauce, all while supplying the equipment needed to bring in the biggest catch. Nearby cabin rentals and RV parks can accommodate guests before and after their charters. FishBC.org also plans to start a kids' fishing initiative that will teach underprivileged youths the joys of catching salmon and using a fishing pole to make the bed.
