Bartender was very knowledgeable, and what he didn't know, he referred me to someone who did. 👍! The wine descriptions are well thought out, and correct. The atmosphere of the location fits it's description. We did not visit the outside patio, but it looked inviting. Tap beers and snacks not available (covid rules) and masks were required to enter, but could be removed after ordering.

The wine is average and a little pricey. The service is average. Nothing out of the ordinary or worth noting.

Great winery. Nothing over the top but quiet and enjoyed our experience. Great way to celebrate 39 years and meet another couple celebrating 11 all the while social distancing!

We went on valentine's day and our server that day was the owner and winemaker Alwyn Fitzgerald. It was nice to hear his explanations for what he was looking for and attempting to draw out of each variety. A Cozy, romantic, and relaxing atmosphere. Not a fan of almost Anyone's wines from local grapes but the Port here was great. His non-local varieties were very good

About Fisher King Winery

To winemaker Alwyn Fitzgerald, the Fisher King isn't just a medieval legend; he represents a way of life and is the underlying spirit of the winery. According to Arthurian myth, as the wounded Fisher King emerged from the cold winter, grew stronger through the spring, and reached full heartiness by summer’s end, so did the surrounding land, people, and harvest. Inspired by this relationship between Man and Earth, and in spite of the Midwest’s temperamental climate, Alwyn founded Fisher King Winery. There, he hand-processes the local, cold-hardy grapes that give his small-batch wines a light yet complex flavor profile. His decision to use mostly Midwestern grapes in his winemaking process has certainly paid off: The winery’s Blue Rapture white wine won a gold medal at the U.S. National Wine Competition, as well as a Best of Class and double-gold award at the International Eastern Wine Competition in 2013. His Marquette dry red is also a multiple gold medal winner. In recent New York City competitions, Fisher King was named “Wisconsin Winery of the Year”; their Moscato and St. Pepin wines each earned 94 and 91 points, respectively.

The winery continues to produce and sell more wine each year, success that has forced Alwyn to relocate into a brand new, larger facility in Verona, Wisconsin. Outside of Fisher King Winery, a hanging sign with gold letters depicts the company's mythological namesake. Inside, large windows provide a glimpse of the tanks and pipes in the production area, where Alwyn and his family produce their range of succulent wines, from dry reds to sweet whites. The upscale tasting room's hardwood bar and tables give visitors a place to sip popular wines by the flight, glass, or bottle, and nibble on local artisan cheeses. Fisher King Winery also hosts regular live performances from local and regional musicians every Friday evening and often on Saturdays.
