America has always been the most extreme country, from the Boston Tea Punchings to having the first man swear on the moon. We hold this shredding guitar solo to be self-evident with today's Groupon to the Fitness Fiasco obstacle-course event on Saturday, October 15 at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Imperial. Choose between the following options:
- For $25, you get one individual entry (a $50 value).
- For $100, you get entry for a team of four (a $200 value).
The course at each Fitness Fiasco event presents a brutal gauntlet of obstacles and exercises custom-designed to challenge endurance, fortitude, and mental resilience. Racers scale walls and Fosbury flop over fences in hopes of snagging a top-four finish in the male or female division and qualifying for the Fiasco Finale, where the top three men and women and the top four-person team receive awards. Participants select wave times during the registration process, with waves leaving every 30 minutes starting at 8 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. Every registered competitor and Oprah impersonator receives a complimentary packet filled with a race bib, a chip timer, a T-shirt, and goodies from sponsors, to be picked up from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the check-in tent on the day of the race.
Competitors are also encouraged to find the stamina for an array of side events. Show off for crushes or potential rickshaw clients with free pushup and pull-up contests, bubble sumo wrestling, and by signing inspirational posters with extremely heavy pens.
