About Fitzgerald Museum

What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
The Museum is located in Old Cloverdale, one of Montgomery's oldest and most beautiful neighborhoods. We offer personalized tours and have several "hands-on" artifacts, such as an exact copy of Scott's "Ledger" and magazine short stories. Plus, our sound system plays the couple's favorite tunes.

What is the experience customers can expect?
Down-to-earth, quiet, charming. Warm guides and a feeling of a long-lost era.

What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
There had never been a Fitzgerald Museum and in 1986, this home was scheduled for demolition. It was saved, and--since the Fitzgerald's never owned a home--slowly turned into a Museum. Today it is one of only 4 surviving homes the Fitzgerald's inhabited.

What do you love most about your job?
Gatsby was the twentieth century's 2nd most-widely-read English language novel. But Gatsby is only a fraction of the real story of Scott and Zelda. We love watching our guests turn from curious to fascinated during their visit at the Museum.

A great little museum, it doesn’t take long to go through but really interesting. I took my two daughters ages seven and nine and they enjoyed looking at Zelda’s paintings and paper dolls.
