Earth’s mammals share certain commonalities, such as a four-chambered heart, cute and cuddly young, and repeated failed attempts to steal flight from the birds. Bond with ocean brethren with today’s Groupon: for $55, you get a three-hour whale-watching excursion from Five Star Whale Watching (up to a $110.88 value), taking off from Victoria Inner Harbor.

Five Star’s veteran captains, crews, and onboard naturalists guide excursions through Pacific waters frequented by pods of killer whales and a supporting cast of marine all stars. For three hours, veteran captains steer 35- and 40-passenger catamarans through the brine, inviting passengers to plant their person on any of their four viewing platforms to spot whales hunting for Victoria salmon or practicing the pirouettes for their synchronized jazz routine. Besides killer whales, oceanic sights may include any number of salt-water junkies such as seals, otters, and dolphins. Passengers maintain homeostasis with the aid of heated cabin, an on-board inventory of haute-couture jackets, and free guzzles of steamy hot chocolate. Tours leave at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. daily.

Five Star Whale Watching Ltd.

The Salish Sea hosts one of the largest killer-whale gatherings on the planet. There, Five Star Whale Watching's seasoned captains introduce guests to the three resident orca pods, as well as the many transient pods that move through the area. Aboard Five Star's fleet of stable catamarans, guests may spot orcas' massive dorsal fins, as well as minke, gray, and humpback whales. Between sightings, crews keep parties comfortable within the heated cabin by supplying them with complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, and expert knowledge.

Customer Reviews

So much fun! Very informative! And we saw the sunset and we saw whales!

My husband and I went out once a couple of years ago with 5 Star and we had an amazing time seeing the Humpbacks. This time 6 of us had a great time with 5 Star. We were late for the check in and they were most kind as we had a person with a medical condition. The trip could not have been better. Jazz our guide was so informative. Thank you 5 Star. Jae

The crew were great and we got a once in a lifetime siting of 2 pods of orca's. The second pod of around 20 orca's we saw came up under our boat and that was down partly to luck but also to the crews quick response to sitings.
