About This Deal
Despite a centuries-long bond, humans secretly envy horses for their braided tails and ability to control donkeys with a single disapproving glance. Learn from our bipedal brethren with today's Groupon to Five Star Ranch in Campbellville. Choose between two options:
For $39, you get a one-hour trail ride for two (a $79.10 value, including HST). Trail rides take place on Sundays. Riders must be at least 10 years old. Helmets are mandatory for riders 18 years or younger and are included in the value of this deal. All participants must wear trousers or leggings, 1/2-inch heeled boots, and capes woven from frontier winds.
For $129, you get a five-day horse-riding camp for one (a $310.75 value, including HST). This Groupon is valid for Introduction Level One and Two camps (ages 8–15), adult camp (ages 16+), and Pee Wee camp (ages 5–7). Helmets are not included, but can be rented at an additional $25 per week.
For the past 25 years, Five Star Ranch's Equine Canada certified instructors have corralled horses and riders of all experience levels for educational riding experiences. Groups of six or fewer beginner and novice riders stick it to the automotive man during one-hour trail rides along wood-resplendent paths. Equine Canada Certified–guides lead one-hour Sunday excursions at paces no faster than a walk or jog. Breathe in uninhibited oxygen and whisper math proofs into one of the school horse's ears as ocular orbs ingest nature's curious lack of advertising.
Camps, available for all experience levels, immerse individual participants in five days of riding lessons, tacking, and equipment maintenance. For eight hours a day, groups of six students learn to groom and administer first aid to equine allies, keeping steeds in top condition for vaulting, demonstrations, and diving into pools of pudding. Riders frolic in a 75'x160' outdoor arena, or, when Mother Nature's busy reading tragic romance novels, in the 80'x130' indoor arena. Camps conclude with an invited show, allowing pupils and hoofed companions to show off their newfound experience. Lunches, snacks, water, and riding boots/shoes add in the evolution of equine enthusiasts into conscientious cowpokes. Check out the website for start dates.
About Five Star Ranch
The indoor arena, outdoor arena, and winding trails on Five Star Ranch's grounds resound with pounding hooves as instructor Gail Haynes and her experienced staff guide visitors during lessons, clinics, and trail rides. In a well-lit 80'x130' indoor arena, teachers imbue horseback-riding students with safety tips for horse leading and expound on tacking techniques and grooming principles, such as which horse breeds look best with a pompadour.
The Ranch's clinics cover the gamut of equine wherewithal, from basic horsemanship skills to learning how to properly conduct a horse using reins instead of a magic wand. Visitors to the ranch can also amble into the tack store for all of their equestrian needs, such as hand-picked grooming supplies from renowned brands Professionals' Choice and John Lyons.
