Flamenco dance is a cultural art form native to the Andalusia region of Spain. Originally associated with gitanos, or Spanish gypsies, the dance has grown in recognition and popularity since the late 19th century, and is now an integral piece of the culture of Spain. Flamenco! at Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts is a tribute to the art form that features performances by some of the best Flamenco artists in the world. Singer Ezequiel Benitez and instrumentalists Manuel Valencia and Luis Carrasco provide the music for the thunderous, soulful dancing of Fernando Jimenez.
